Amy Case was elected County Superintendent of Schools in Thurston County, Washington in 1892. In 1894 Case was the Prohibition Party candidate and faced three other candidates in the race, including two other women: Mrs. P.C. Hale (Democrat); and Fannie M. Austin (Peoples Party). All three women lost to the (male) Republican candidate.
