Florence King was an independent candidate for Municipal Judge from Chicago, Illinois in 1914, polling over 15,000 votes in the primaries. She was the founder and president of the National Women's Association of Commerce as well as the Chicago Women's Association of Commerce. A leader in her field, she was possibly the first female patent lawyer in the US.
