Elizabeth Donley was a Citizens, Platform, and Progressive Party candidate for state House of Representatives in Colorado in 1910. Seeing women working sweatshops in New York, where she grew up, made Donley support workers' rights. Donley also claimed that her mother, a supporter of woman suffrage, inspired her entrance into politics.
