Cordelia E. Hays was elected as County Superintendent of Schools for Mono County, California in 1902. She was elected to at least two additional terms. Hays married Mono County Sheriff James Dolan in 1912. and had left education by 1914. She was suceeded in the position of superintendent by her mother Allice M. Hays.
